Possibly the greatest Laker in the organisation’s history. Kobe Bryant is the Lakers’ all-time leading scorer, and his five titles are tied for the most in franchise history. Both jersey numbers he wore during his career, 8 and 24, were retired by the Lakers on December 18, 2017.

Bryant was referred to as “one of the greatest players in the history of our game” by NBA commissioner Adam Silver, and The New York Times wrote that he had “one of the most decorated careers in the history of the sport”. Kobe was considered one of the most complete players in NBA history and was the first player in NBA history to have 30,000 career points and 6,000 career assists.

Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to 5 NBA titles, won two Olympic Gold Medals with Team USA, played in 18 NBA All-Star Games winning several MVP Awards along the way. Kobe Bryant is set to join basketballs greats in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in May 2021.
