Prodimiately known for in New Zealand and Australia for his time racing in the Supercars Championship, last driving the No. 97 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 car for Triple Eight Race Engineering. Shane is a three-time Supercars Champion, winning driver’s titles in 2016, 2021, and 2022 amassing a total of 80 wins and 46 pole positions before switching to Nascar.

He made his Cup Series debut at the 2023 Grant Park 220 in Chicago, winning on debut, becoming the first driver to do so in the modern era. He also became the first New Zealander to win a Cup Series race.

In 2024, competing part-time in the Xfinity Series with Kaulig Racing, he claimed three wins at Portland, Sonoma, and Chicago.

In 2025, he stepped up to a full-time Cup Series seat with Trackhouse Racing. He went on a stunning road course rampage winning at Mexico City, Chicago, Sonoma, and Watkins Glen, becoming the winningest rookie in a single Cup Series season and tying Tony Stewart and Jimmie Johnson for most wins in a rookie year. He then capped it off with a fifth consecutive road course win at the Charlotte Roval, and was named 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year.

His dominance on road courses has made him one of the most exciting drivers in NASCAR, a true once-in-a-generation crossover talent. Shane’s road-race dominance is slowly transferring to oval racing.
