Jerry West, often referred to as ‘The Logo’ due to his silhouette being incorporated into the NBA logo is an NBA legend.
While only winning one NBA Championship with the Lakers in 1972, he’s had a massive impact on the game. In 1980, he was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and named to the NBA 35th Anniversary Team, named as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA history in 1996, and to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. The Lakers retired his #44 jersey in 1983. Jerry West was also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Donald Trump. Jerry West has also won 8 NBA Championships as an executive for the Lakers and Warriors.
