Steven Adams is arguably New Zealand’s best known basketballer and is the only New Zealander currently playing in the NBA. He was recently traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder to the New Orleans Pelicans.
Steven moved to the United States in 2012 to play college basketball for Pittsburgh after playing one season with his hometown team Wellington Saints in 2011. In June 2013, he was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder as the 12th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft making him the highest ever New Zealander to be drafted into the NBA.
